Prince Rooster
A Hasidic parable about a fine young prince who thought he was really a
rooster.
ART SPIEGELMAN, who also painted the covers, wrote and drew Prince Rooster
because he "wanted to find a fairy tale with no magic, except the magic of
good stories." He is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of MAUS: A Survivor's
Tale, an account of his parents' experiences in the Holocaust, as well as
a children's book, Open Me... I'm a Dog! He is a staff writer and artist for
The New Yorker. Born in Sweden, Art now lives in Manhattan with his wife and
co-editor, Francoise Mouly, and their two children, Nadja, 13, and Dashiell,
8.
