Pretty Ugly IAN FALCONER is a painter and illustrator whose work has appeared on the covers of The New Yorker. He has designed sets and costumes for the New York City Ballet, the San Francisco Opera, and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, among others. He won a Caldecott Honor for Olivia, his first children’s book, published last year. Pretty Ugly is his first comic-book story. Ian lives in Manhattan. DAVID SEDARIS was born in Johnson City, New York,
and now lives in Paris, France. He is the author of four books, including
Naked and Me Talk Pretty One Day. He writes plays with
his sister Amy, one of which, One Woman Shoe, won an Obie award.
He’s also a regular contributor to Public Radio International’s This
American Life. Pretty Ugly was inspired by his sister Amy, who makes the world’s scariest faces. |
